FIELD TRIP PERMISSION

During the school year, Oakwood Elementary School students will be participating in various field trips. Under the supervision of our teachers, they will visit various sites of educational value.

Please sign below indicating that you give permission for your child to participate in these field trips. This form will be on file and will suffice for the entire year.

We will send notes home prior to each field trip specifying the date, time, and any lunch, etc. that might be required. Please be alert to these messages, which notify you that your child will be transported from the school premises.

STUDENT PHOTOS

If you do NOT give permission for your student's photo to appear in school publications, including the website, promotional materials, or yearbooks, please visit the office to sign an opt out form.

FREE & REDUCED LUNCH APPLICATION

If you prefer to fill out the online Free & Reduced Lunch Application, please use the link. Paper copies are available at each school if preferred. Meal prices per day are as follows:

Breakfast:

• $3.00 full pay (students)
• $0.30 reduced pay
• $4.00 (adults)

Lunch:

• $3.70 full pay (elementary students)
• $0.40 reduced pay
• $5.30 (adults)

DROP OFF / PICKUP PROCEDURES

Morning Student Drop Off

Between 7:40 am and 7:55 am, drivers should remain in their vehicles as they drop students off unless they park in a designated parking spot. If you need to enter the school or your child is not ready to exit your vehicle, please park in the designated parking area and not along the curb. This will help the line move much faster for those who are ready to quickly drop their child off in the morning.

Please do not let your child get out of the car unless you are next to the curb. If you stop in a driving lane, you are blocking drivers who are correctly dropping their child off next to the curb.

Afternoon Student Pick Up

Between 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm, drivers should remain with their vehicles in the pickup areas next to the curb. For student safety, please do not pick up your child unless your car is next to the curb. If there is not a parking spot next to the curb, please continue moving through the pickup area and come around a second (or third) time until you can find a spot.

If you know your child will not be out of the building by 3:50 pm in the afternoon, please be courteous and park in a designated parking area and not next to the curb. This will make a huge difference in pickup time for those children that are ready for pickup.

Reminders

• Do not speed through the drop-off/pickup area.
• Please be courteous and follow etiquette rules when dropping off or picking up your children.
• Watch for pedestrians and remember they have the right-of-way.
• There are more than 400 children being picked up/dropped off each day. It is congested, please be patient.
